Rhea Chakraborty Drugs Case: Rhea Chakraborty used to give drugs to Sushant Singh Rajput: NCB
Sushant Singh Rajput Death: Two years have passed since the death of film actor Sushant Singh Rajput, but Rhea Chakraborty's troubles are not seeming to end yet.
Two years have passed since the death of film actor Sushant Singh Rajput, but Rhea Chakraborty's troubles are not seeming to end yet. Rhea is still on the radar of the Narcotics Control Bureau. NCB, which is probing the drugs angle in Sushant's case, has now accused Rhea of giving drugs to Sushant. NCB has filed a charge sheet claiming that Rhea had taken ganja several times from the co-accused including her brother Shovik and it was given to Sushant.
NCB had filed a charge sheet
The NCB had filed a charge sheet against 35 accused in the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS) court last month, the details of which were made available on Tuesday. According to the charge sheet, all the accused in connivance with each other or in a group entered into a criminal conspiracy between March 2020 and December 2020 to distribute, sell and purchase narcotics in high society and Bollywood.
The NCB said that the accused had financed drug trafficking inside Mumbai and used ganja, charas, cocaine, and other narcotics. According to the charges written in the charge sheet, therefore, sections 27 and 27A (financing illegal smuggling and harboring criminals) 28 (punishment for attempts to commit offense), 29 (whoever abets, or is involved in, criminal conspiracy) have been booked against her. The charges have been framed under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.
It said, 'Accused No. 10 Rhea Chakraborty had taken ganja from the accused Samuel Miranda, Shovik, Dipesh Sawant and others and handed it over to the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.' The actress paid for the consignment between March 2020 and September 2020 at the behest of Shovik and the late actor. According to the allegations written in the charge sheet, Rhea's brother Shovik was in regular contact with drug traffickers and took it from the co-accused after ordering ganja and charas. These substances were given to Sushant.
Let us tell you that the filing of the charge sheet prepares the ground for the framing of charges, after which the hearing starts. However, before framing the charges, the court will have to first decide the acquittal plea of the accused. Special Judge VG Raghuvanshi, who hears cases related to the NDPS Act, has fixed July 27 for hearing the matter. Let us inform you that Chakraborty was arrested in this case in September 2020 and a month later the Bombay High Court granted him bail. The NCB launched an investigation into alleged drug use in the film and television industry following Rajput's death on June 14, 2020.
