The Sandalwood drug scandal case is in the news these days. In this case, the crime branch team has arrested 11 people including Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi. Now the name of Aditya Alva, brother-in-law of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi is also coming up in this case. Aditya is the son of former Karnataka minister Jeevaraj Alva.
According to media reports, an FIR has been filed against 12 people in this case. Aditya Alva's name is also being mentioned in this. It is also being said that Aditya is quite a celebrity. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested three persons from Bangalore who are accused of supplying narcotics to singers and artists of the Kannada film industry. After which the CCB started a thorough investigation into the matter.
Filmmaker and journalist Inderjit Lankesh had lodged his statement with CCB regarding drug use in Sandalwood. He said that at least 15 people of the film industry here are involved in drug-related business. On Sunday, the Narcotics Control Bureau raided the house of Keshavamurthy and his son, a councilor of the Greater Bangalore Metropolitan Municipality. Meanwhile, the zonal and Mumbai officials of NCB searched the house and seized suspicious documents. The NCB had issued a notice to Keshavamurthy's son Yash in the drug smuggling case on September 7.
