Actress Olivia Munn diagnosed with breast cancer

Actor Olivia Munn, whom we all know for her films such as 'X-Men', shares that she has to beat breast cancer, a disease she is struggling with. On Wednesday, March 13, the American actor posted a series of photos on social media and shared his story. Munn also revealed that she had to undergo a double mastectomy.

Olivia shared a photo of herself in a hospital bed and captioned it, "I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I wish this little step would be a big one for someone else, helping them find ease, hope, and strength in their life.

In multiple statements, Munn also shared that she underwent some genetic testing in February 2023 to check for 90 different cancer genes. "The test result was negative for all genes checked including BRCA, which is one of the most known breast cancer genes among others." My sister Sarah just tested negative too," Munn wrote."We cheered each other up and had a high-five phone talk. I also got my mammogram exam done the following winter. Two months later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer", she added.

The 43-year-old 'X-Men' actor further revealed that she has undergone four surgeries in the last 10 months, including a double mastectomy performed 30 days after her biopsy. She also shared that several days were spent in bed and that she 'learned more about cancer, cancer treatment and hormones than I ever thought possible.'

She also wrote, "Surprisingly, I've only cried twice. I guess I just didn't feel like it was time to cry."

Besides, Munn recommended that everyone would determine their level of breast cancer risk assessment. That number was the one result leading me to an early MRI and an ultrasound followed by a biopsy," she concluded. "My biopsy results showed that my cancer was also luminal B, which was found in both of my breasts." Luminal B is an aggressive, fast-growing cancer", Munn said.

In the post, Olivia separately thanked her friends and family, specifically her life and business partner John Mulaney.
