In recent weeks, Elvish Yadav has found himself embroiled in controversy. On November 3, he, along with five others, was accused under the Wildlife (Protection) Act and Section 120A of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly participating in a criminal conspiracy to sell snake venom to a party in Sector 51 of Noida.
During the investigation, officials interrogated Elvish regarding the recordings and pictures discovered thus far. Despite the allegations, the YouTuber has vehemently denied any wrongdoing. As the police delved into the matter, they uncovered leads suggesting that if the snake venom was indeed used at parties, it might have been diluted with chemicals.
"Yadav has cooperated with the investigation. He visited the police station around 11:30 pm on Tuesday, where he was questioned for approximately two hours and subsequently released. He will be summoned again," a senior officer from the Noida Police revealed to PTI, requesting anonymity.
Among the seized snakes were five cobras, two sand snakes, one python, and one rat snake. The 1972 Wildlife Protection Act's Schedule 1 affords protection to each of these snakes. Notably, all nine snakes, eight of which had been defanged, lacked venom glands entirely.
