'Laapataa Ladies' is India's official entry for Oscars 2025

Laapataa Ladies Oscars 2024: Aamir Khan's film 'Laapata Ladies' has been sent from India to the Oscars 2025. This has been confirmed by Film Federation of India Selection Committee Chairman Jahanu Barua himself. 29 films were included in the Oscar race, but 'Laapata Ladies' has been selected out of all these films.

A total of 29 films were in the race to participate in Oscars 2024. These also included films like Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' and Vicky Kaushal's 'Sam Bahadur'. However, the 13-member jury has selected 'Laapata Ladies' out of all the films.

The film 'Laapata Ladies' is directed by Aamir Khan's ex-wife and director Kiran Rao. It was released in theaters on March 1, 2024.Laapata Ladies Cast Includes Nitanshi Goyal, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Srivastava, and Ravi Kishan in the lead roles. The film did not earn much at the box office, but people liked the acting and story of the actors present in it. This film is also available on Netflix, the OTT platform.

Kiran Rao's dream came true

'Laapata Ladies' has been sent by the Film Federation of India as India's official entry for Oscar 2024. Recently, the film's director Kiran had also expressed her wish that her film 'Laapata Ladies' should be sent to the Oscars and now her dream has come true. Aamir Khan Laapataa Ladies

This is not the first time that a film produced by Aamir Khan has been selected for the Oscars by the Film Federation of India. Earlier, his films ‘Taare Zameen Par’, ‘Peepli Live’, and ‘Lagaan’ were also selected for the Foreign Film category. Of these, only ‘Lagaan’ made it to the final nomination, but the film could not win the 74th Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
